Goldfinger

The soundtrack composed by John Barry for “Goldfinger” propelled the James Bond movies into high society. It received its first Grammy nomination, for Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Show. It stayed in the Billboard 200 chart for 70 weeks, even reaching number one.
The “Goldfinger” song is the first collaboration with the famous singer Shirley Bassey, who was en vogue then. She was to become a recurrent musical presence for the Agent 007 movies.
The first version of “Goldfinger” was recorded by Anthony Newly. But then they thought it was worth a better interpretation. It’s really interesting how the memorable song was changed.
