Die Another Day

The movie budget was 42 million dollars (a record at that time), therefore the producers could afford to work with anyone for the soundtrack. They chose Madonna.
The critics had various opinions (as usual, when it comes to Madonna). However, the song was nominated at the Golden Globes for Best Original Song and at Grammy Awards for Best Dance Recording and Best Short Form Music Video. The song was number 1 in Canada, Italy, Romania and Spain, and in many other countries it ranked in the top 10. It was 3rd on the British chart and the 8th on the American one.
Madonna also starred in the movie (the first time a song interpreter had a part in a James Bond movie). That allowed the video to be something like an extension to the movie. Prime time guaranteed, it’s Madonna after all.
The song proposal of Red Flag was “Beyond the Ice” 1)”The Music of James Bond” by Jon Burlingame, book published by Oxford University Press in 2012. An interesting song, with lyrics that encompass some of the previous James Bond movie titles. Can you identify them?
