James Bond Is Back / From Russia with Love / James Bond Theme

The great musician John Barry, along with his band, had been a part of the series from the very first James Bond movie. For the support given to Monty Norman, who was lacking inspiration at that time, he was promised a contract for writing the soundtrack for the future James Bond movies. No sooner said than done.
John Barry created more than just some theme songs for the James Bond movies, he created a style. A style which still resonates even with the theme music from our days. Agent 007 wouldn’t be the same without his contribution.
At that time, John Barry was a young musician with fresh ideas. But his passion was instrumental music. And for this reason, the title sequence of “From Russia with Love” has no lyrics whatsoever.
Some believe that the real main theme song would be “From Russia with Love” (performed by Matt Monro), even if the song appears at the beginning of the movie only as an instrumental passage. However, it was included in the vocal version at the end of the movie. Considering the lyrics, it was the most sensible choice.
