In 1980, Sheena Easton made quite a stir in the music market, producing hit after hit. The song “For Your Eyes Only” followed in the success of her previous ones. It occupied a good place in the charts: 4th in the USA and 8th in Great Britain. It even received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.

In addition, the lady was a very fine looking woman for those years. That’s how she came to be the first female singer to appear on a James Bond title sequence.

The producers wanted Blondie to appear on the title sequence. The band had produced three hits in the previous year, and was en vogue. The members of the band rushed to write a song, but were displeased to hear that the producers wanted only the female soloist, Debbie Harry, not the song too.
